Digging into the unknown

Salvage excavations

Israel Archaeological Services is the sole representative of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in all matters pertaining to salvage excavations, as required by Israel’s Antiquities Law prior to any new construction/development works — whether the land in question be public or private. We have extensive experience in archaeological consultation and in the execution of salvage excavations, working efficiently and at the highest scientific and academic standards, and enjoy a full success rate vis-à-vis the statutory authority — the Israel Antiquities Authority — in obtaining land releases for our clients upon completed excavation.

IAS carries out salvage excavations throughout the country and throughout the year, working with governmental bodies and municipalities alongside private companies and contractors.
